Silipox Construction Adhesive 824 - solvent-free epoxy resin adhesive (2 kg)

SILIPOX Baukleber-824 is an epoxy adhesive and filler for construction applications. SILIPOX-824 is a solvent-free epoxy resin adhesive with a pasty consistency. This two-component product is easy to apply and has excellent adhesion to all mineral substrates, metal, and many plastics. The reaction product is a rigid-elastic plastic with high strength. Both components contain fine mineral fillers and are formulated so that they can be mixed 1:1 by volume or by weight. SILIPOX can be used wherever concrete, natural stone, artificial stone, or ceramics (stoneware) need to be permanently bonded to themselves or to metal, many plastics*, or wood. Adhesion and cohesion of the adhesive joint are greater than the inherent strength of high-quality concrete, so that under load, the strength of the bond is always higher than that of the building materials connected by the adhesive.

Application

SILIPOX-Baukleber 824 can be used as an adhesive, anchoring mortar, repair mortar, and for sealing cracks. The surface bonding of natural stone slabs (stair treads), as well as fixing anchors or dowels in boreholes or sealing fiber-concrete tie points against pressurized water, is effortless.

Processing

For application, both components are mixed together 1:1 (by volume or by weight). The mixture can be processed immediately without an induction time. High material or ambient temperatures shorten the pot life (as with all reactive resins). Processing temperatures < 20°C extend the pot life and setting times; at temperatures < 5°C, the product no longer cures (the reaction "freezes") or the setting reaction is interrupted, continuing normally once the temperature rises (a typical characteristic of epoxy resins). The materials to be bonded should be dry or matt-damp, clean, and free of contaminants that act as release agents. A structural connection to concrete surfaces requires that dust and friable fine layers ("cement laitance") are removed and the load-bearing core concrete is exposed. Metals must be clean and free of grease. For cleaning and as a solvent, we recommend our safety solvent HydroSolv 520, which is matched to our SILIPOX resins.
