Restores and treats surfaces of building materials  

SILEX-Fluat is a highly reactive building protection agent with a broad spectrum of applications. 944 removes salts, neutralizes, prevents stains, eliminates mold and musty odors, and consolidates and hardens crumbly plasters and cement-bonded building materials.

The product effectively removes salts deposited on mineral building material surfaces and in building material pores; new efflorescence is prevented. Free lime and alkaline substrates are neutralized, and sinter layers are removed. 

SILEX-FLUAT is a very effective fungicide; mold and rot are eliminated, and fungal spores, even deep within the building material, are killed. The typical musty odor in cellars and rooms with damp walls disappears quickly and permanently after treatment with SILEX-Fluat. 

When treating concrete and cement-bonded building materials with SILEX-944, the building material is chemically densified, consolidated, and hardened by precipitated crystalline silicates, and moisture absorption is reduced. For cement-bonded floor surfaces, treatment with SILEX-Fluat significantly reduces abrasion and wear. The permanent new formation of fine dust is prevented, and the resistance of the floors to oily and aqueous pollutants is enormously improved. 

Application

Remove dust, dirt, and loose parts; brush off heavy soiling and rinse with water. Fresh concrete and new plasters must be fully set. The substrate must be checked and prepared in accordance with DIN 18 363.

SILEX-Fluat 944 do not use on gypsum-bonded plasters and screeds.

SILEX-Fluat is applied—diluted with water—to the substrate in at least two generous applications using brushes or block brushes. The tools must not be bound with wire or sheet metal. Do not use metal containers (exception: stainless steel) for mixing and applying the product.

Step 1: Dilute SILEX-Fluat 944 1:4 with water

Step 2: Dilute SILEX-Fluat 944 1:2 with water

Step 3: Dilute SILEX-Fluat 944 1:1 with water (only in special cases)

Application can be carried out "wet-on-wet," though drying between work steps improves the effect. For subsequent coatings, it is advisable to wash the fluated surfaces with clear water after a waiting period of 24-48 hours.

Important: Carefully protect glass, ceramics, tiles, marble, aluminum, and all non-acid-resistant components and surfaces by masking and covering. The fluat attacks these materials and causes stains that are impossible to remove from glass and ceramics, and very difficult to remove from other materials. If necessary, wash off fresh soiling and splashes immediately with clear water.
