HydroStop 366 is a permanently plastic, gas- and watertight sealant with excellent adhesion to virtually all building materials, including damp substrates.

HydroStop absorbs water upon direct contact, swelling by up to 15%. This swelling effect, characteristic of HydroStop, effectively reinforces its sealing performance.

HydroStop 366 contains no solvents or other volatile components, no plasticizers, or any other ingredients that could attack or react in any way with plastics, elastomers (rubber), bitumen, concrete, metal, or other building materials. Migration of plasticizers—e.g., from foils, joint tapes, or cable sheaths into the mastic—is also ruled out!

The special polymer binder in this sealant prevents the product from hardening, shrinking, drying out, or becoming brittle. It possesses excellent resistance to chemical and biological influences; HydroStop 360/366 is not chemically or biologically degraded, and its characteristic tough-plastic mastic properties are retained even after many years. It also features excellent resistance to temperature fluctuations and flexibility at low temperatures.

HydroStop 366 is modified with a binder that forms a skin when exposed to air, thereby sealing the surface of the mastic.

Applications

• Sealing of wall penetrations for pipes and cables in structures in contact with the ground or directly exposed to water.
• Reliable and easy-to-install sealing of connection joints in precast concrete elements for civil and hydraulic engineering.
• As an additional security measure and leveling compound behind flanges and clamping constructions.
• For the rehabilitation of leaking movement joints, e.g., in cases of circulating, damaged, or incorrectly installed joint tapes.

IMPORTANT: The plastic structure of the mastic allows for the subsequent installation of cables or the loosening of clamped connections at any time without damaging the seal!

HydroStop 366 is supplied in standard commercial PE cartridges and can be applied using conventional caulking guns. There are no special requirements or preparations for contact surfaces, although it is necessary to remove loose dirt, dust, grease, etc. Good adhesion of the mastic is only possible if the product can actually wet the substrate. HydroStop adheres very well to wet surfaces as well. However, shiny wet surfaces should be dried by wiping as much as possible before application to ensure the mastic can make direct contact with the substrate—this makes the work easier! To smooth the surface, it is useful to dip the tools used into water to prevent the mastic from sticking.
