HydroBloc Si 709 – Siloxane concentrate for damp-proof courses 1kg

HydroBloc-Si-709 is a reactive, self-crosslinking siloxane concentrate for highly effective damp-proof courses / horizontal waterproofing against rising damp. HydroBloc Si 709 acts against capillary rising water in damp, wet, and water-saturated building materials. With HydroBloc-Si 709, effective waterproofing can be achieved where other injection agents based on silicones or silanes have long since failed. HydroBloc-Si 709 is a concentrate. For injection, it is diluted with up to 15 parts water (tap water), depending on the type of building material. This makes the product very economical to use. Upon contact with the building material, Si-709 sets through a chemical reaction and is permanently bonded to the building material structure. The crosslinking reaction occurs automatically; the reaction initiator is already included in the product.

The operating principle of HydroBloc SI 709: The active ingredient enters into a chemical reaction with the building material, thereby stopping capillary suction (water transport). Systems that work through silicification clog the pores or make them narrower. New systems like HydroBloc SI 709 no longer use this technology; permanent waterproofing is achieved by interrupting the suction process / water absorption.

Application

HydroBloc Si-709 is introduced into the wall via drill holes so that the injection solution, which spreads in a circle around the holes within the wall, overlaps to create a continuous barrier layer. This injection can be carried out using the pressure method with injection pumps or pressureless via reservoir containers / injection bottles. Pressure injection is always recommended in cases of severe dampness (water content in masonry > 50%). With degrees of dampness > 70%, pressure injection is mandatory. This is the only way to ensure the injection agent penetrates the water-saturated building material pores. Fissured, cavity-rich masonry must always be grouted with a cement suspension (Silex Suspension 931). IMPORTANT: A prerequisite for the function of damp-proof courses is that the masonry is completely saturated with the injection agent at the injection level. This saturation depends on the structure, composition, and water content of the existing wall materials and always requires a sufficient injection time.

Times of less than 7–10 minutes for pressure injections and 8 hours for pressureless methods are minimum values and should not be undercut.

HydroBloc-SI 709 is diluted with tap water before processing. The degree of dilution depends on the dampness and absorbency of the wall to be waterproofed and can range between 5 and 15 parts water to one part Si-709.
