BlocSil 790 Integral - transparent sealant with UV protection

Highly abrasion-resistant, self-crosslinking methacrylate sealer
BlocSil-790 is a chemically reactive yet single-component product that can be used to create wear-resistant, transparent protective coatings (sealers). BlocSil-790 can be diluted with water. Films made from BlocSil-790 integral are very hard, abrasion-resistant, transparent, weather-resistant, and—typical of methacrylates—also resistant to UV radiation, meaning they do not yellow. It also features exceptionally high resistance to plasticizer migration. Car tires—even hot, wet tires (!) —leave no marks on BlocSil-790. The outstanding adhesion and resistance to environmental influences and many chemicals make BlocSil 790i the material of choice for

• protecting concrete floors, screeds, and terrazzo
• protecting natural and artificial stone floor coverings
• protecting terracotta floors

against wear, stains, and damage caused by de-icing salts and other aggressive pollutants. Application is simple. BlocSil-790i is ready to use and can be brushed, rolled, or sprayed on. The substrate must be clean and free of release agents. Absorbent substrates should be primed. For this purpose, BlocSil-790i diluted with 20–30% water is used as a base coat. On smooth, dense substrates, one coat is generally sufficient; for higher requirements regarding the wear resistance of the coating and a pore-free, dense film, two (or more) layers can be applied. BlocSil-790 integral dries physically at first—through the evaporation of the water contained in the product. The drying time is short but depends on the temperature, humidity, and the substrate.

IMPORTANT:
Along with the film formation that occurs during drying, the binder then crosslinks, thereby achieving its high level of performance. This reaction is of no consequence for subsequent coats of the same product; there are no adhesion issues during longer waiting times between individual work steps. Tools, equipment, and fresh residues of BlocSil-790 can be cleaned with water; adding 2–3% of a standard dishwashing detergent is helpful. Consumption
100 - 150 g/m² (on smooth, dense substrates) The product must be stored in a way that it is inaccessible to unauthorized third parties and children. It becomes unusable if exposed to frost. Recommended storage temperatures are +5° to +30° C. In its original sealed container, BlocSil-790 has a shelf life of at least 18 months; opened containers should always be tightly sealed immediately after product removal and used within 8 weeks.
